Culm height 8-12m,diameter 6cm,internode 25-40cm,culm green , glabrous,sheath spotless ; initially green , with purple ciliate edge, later turning brown ,densely covered with setae,sheath auricles narrow,falciform and extending ,with brown tomenta on surface, a few cilia on edge radially extending ; sheath ligule 3-4mm high , middle part convex , its tip with ciliate edge , sheah blade green,with a purple edge, lanceolate,erect or retroflexed , both sides scabrous ; 3 branches on each node , almost of equal thickness , slantly extending ; leaves broad lanceolate to lanceolate , 11-18cm long , 17-28mm wide . shoot period may , shoot delicious , a fine species for shoot production in summer .
