Chimonocalamus delicatus

Height 10 m , diameter 4-8 cm , internode 20-30 cm . culm annulus convex like a narrow ridge ; sheath coriaceous , fragile , easy to break , its back densely covered with small brownish glossy pannose setae , upper part of sheath narrowly contracted ; sheath mouth ligulate , rising up , 7-12 mm high , its shoulders narrow , slanting outward ; no sheath auricles , sheath ligule irregularly indented , its middle part 4 mm high , extending sidewise , when at shoulder it becoming wide , emerging at the both sides of ligule base , being like auricles ; sheath blade bandlike lanceolate , erect ; 3 main branches , branch annulus convex , like a dish upside down ; leaves long lanceolate , 10-16 cm long , 0.6-1.3 cm wide . shoot period June -July . culm hard , borer resistant , used for house building or weaving . shoot delicious .
